David MacLaren

Mr. MacLaren has been a pioneer in the digital content industry since the late 90's. Over the past eight years, he has made significant contributions to the realm of online travel and hospitality content by continuing to challenge the industry to reach new heights. Mr. MacLaren has won numerous awards for his efforts and is continually recognized for his entrepreneurial creativity, passion, and success.

Prior to VRX, Mr. MacLaren began his business career in Commercial Banking with the Bank of Nova Scotia where he consulted a wide range of companies. He left the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1998 to take the helm of DNA Media Inc, a world renowned multimedia production company. In late 1999, Mr. MacLaren left DNA to launch his first venture backed company.

In December 1999, Mr. MacLaren successfully approached Bright Spark Labs, a Toronto Based venture fund, to finance the launch of Real World Images, one of the first online micro-stock companies. In early 2000, he founded VRX Studios and raised $1.5 million from Cambridge Ventures Ltd., a TSX-V listed company. Later that year, he resigned from Real World Images to oversee the acquisition of Cambridge Ventures and renamed the new public company, VRX Worldwide Inc. Today, Mr. MacLaren is the President, CEO, and Chairman of VRX Worldwide Inc., the parent company of VRX Studios Inc. and MediaValet.

Mr. MacLaren earned an Economics degree at the University of British Columbia and studied International Business at the University of Copenhagen. Outside of VRX, he sits on the Board of Directors of the BC Lions Society and is an active member of EO.
